I'm just a regular wife and mom that desires to know God more so I can love Him, live for Him, and share His love with others...Starting with my own family.
After a long season of isolation away from God and His people, Abidible® is the vision that was born during my journey back home.
"My people have forgotten me days without number." (1) "You did not call upon me, O Jacob; but you have been weary of me, O Israel!" (2)
Several years ago, I was wrongly blaming God for things that God didn't do.
I took my hurts and disappointments and allowed them to make me weary of God. Because I lacked biblical knowledge about God, I made incorrect assumptions about Him.
I went my own way. And the isolation during this wilderness season led to severe anxiety and depression as well as deep discouragement. I was not okay.
"Wherever God's people may be scattered, He will bring them home." (3)
After closing up my Bible and walking away from God and my church family for several years, I was the farthest away from God I'd ever been.
The emptiness I felt was profound.
Coming back home to God and His people started the minute I finally dove back into His Word. As I did, He began to replace hurt with healing, lies with truth, and despair with hope.
Most importantly, He gave me Himself.
"For it is no empty word for you, but your very life." (4)
Maybe it was the fact that I'd been away for so long. Maybe it was the desperation I felt as one idol after another failed me.
But something changed dramatically for me when I came back to the Word of God after living so many years in the desert.
I saw Him anew. His Words to me were living water. The thirst I felt was quenched, and the One who IS the "Resurrection and the Life" resurrected mine from the pit.
The more time I spent saturating my mind, home, and life with Scripture, the closer I grew to God. This carried over to my family as well.
The closer we grew to Him as He revealed Himself to us through His Word, the more our love increased for Him.
As our love increased for Him, it changed how we spoke to one another and how we served one another. And, it restored a desire to be back with God's people in church and community.
The long and short of it is that I had forgotten who God is and all that He has done for me. Because I was not abiding in Him through His Word.
Though the consequences were disastrous for a season, He never gave up on me and never stopped pursuing my heart.
I found Him where He'd always been. Right in His Word.
Now, all I want to do is equip others to find Him. I want to help them know and love Him by abiding in Him through His Word. I want to see them leave the wilderness behind and come back home too.
If you resontate with any part of my story, than you're in the right place. I'm here to help you find your way. Learning to abide in God through His Word will be the greatest, and most rewarding, adventure of your life!
